I like Jan Page's books a lot and this is a great little story for younger children...

Lucy is always losing things. She knows that they can't just vanish into thin air and one day she finds the culprit, a strange little monster who lives under her bed. He's taken all Lucy's things and he won't give them back. Until Lucy finds out that he might just swap them for... CHOCOLATE!

We did quite a lot of nice work based on this one in the past including creating and describing our own monsters and imagining what things around school that our monsters might be responsible for.
