My Friend Needs A Teacher

Last year the theme of the 'Global Campaign for Education' was 'Send My Friend to School'. I know a lot of you got involved by getting your class to make little friend figures to send up to the world leaders at the G8 summit. This year the campaign's focus is 'My Friend Needs a Teacher'. In order to reach the United Nation's target of primary education for all children by 2015 over 15 million properly trained teachers are required. The G8 leaders are meeting in Saint Petersburg in July and the meeting will have a specific emphasis on education and improving the quality of professional teacher training. This is a great opportunity to remind them of their promises to education. Just like last year you can get your class involved by using the lesson resources on the site and making one of the new giant teachers (using the templates provided online) to send off to the G8.
