 For this homework
you'll need a small collection of comic books and/or comic strips.
You don't need too many, the strips from a daily paper will do. What I would
like you to do is try and find the different ways that a comic
uses text. Remember 'text' is just any form of writing. Look on
the comic page opposite, you should be able to spot several different
ways text is used. One of the ways that comics use text is in
the speech bubbles. As well as text in the speech bubbles you
should be able to see other writing as well. What does that writing
                tell you? For each way
a comic book uses text, write down some of the examples you spot
and bring them into school with you. |
