Think carefully about words that you say.

Are they always 'Proper English' ?

Look at this list of words you might use -

Task One

Write a dictionary definition for each of the words listed above. Set it out as if it were a real dictionary entry.

For example -

Buzzin' - adj. Something that is really good/cool.

Task Two

Write down any other words you use like the ones in the list above.

Task Three

Put the words you have written down in task two into sentences.

Extension

Look for examples of different dialect in books in the class. Write them down and try and work out what they mean by looking at the context of the sentence.
