Martyn Steel's sent in these puzzles that he says work very well with 10 and 11 year olds. Martyn has kindly supplied some possible answers.

In a 6 x 4 milkcrate arrange 18 bottles so that when added vertically or horizontally the number of bottles when added is always even.

Place 8 Queens on a chessboard so that no Queen is in a position to take another.

Starting at any one corner of a chessboard visit every square with a Knight without duplicating a visit.
