'German Tips'
ideas contributed by Kathryn Wyatt
[corrections by Jane Davison]

Kathryn writes: 'I use German as my MFL with a Y3/4 class. We answer the registers hier - here, guten Morgen - good morning, guten Tag - good day/afternoon, Mittagessen - Lunch, das Mittagessen zu Hause - home dinners. We have learnt the numbers to 20 and practice simple number bonds. We have also learnt about introducing ourselves and a friend. The children enjoy this. I try to find 10 minutes in the week to practise a little either at the end of a session or in a circle time etc. We work aurally which encourages the children to listen.'
